About Us

SDS was founded in Surrey in 1994 by David Shelton, who saw first-hand the inefficiencies in housing development appraisal during his time at Crest Nicholson. What started as a single spreadsheet tool has grown into the UK's leading software suite for affordable housing providers.

While our reach has expanded across the globe, our core mission remains steadfast - addressing the intricate challenges of housing.

In 2023, SDS was acquired by Valsoft Corporation, a specialist acquirer of vertical SaaS businesses. The acquisition has accelerated investment in product development and international growth, while the UK-focused team and day-to-day operations remain unchanged.
