Formed in 1973, Selkirk-based Eildon Housing Association owns 2000 properties across the Scottish Borders. The organisation provides a range of community services including care and support, agency and consultancy services and partnership projects supported by statutory agencies.

Eildon Building

An ambitious development programme led Director of Technical Services, Laurence Cox, to review their project management systems and he quickly identified a need to replace their in- house spreadsheets. It was felt that a specific system was required to control day-to-day cashflow and project management as well as providing full reporting and data that could link with their other systems.

After a detailed scoping study, SDS was invited to demonstrate Sequel to the development and finance teams. There followed a period of assessment before a trial version was installed. SDS and Eildon worked closely to ensure the system was best suited for their particular needs, which included some initial training.

Mark Walton then took over as Project Leader and a full installation of the system followed. Sequel is now being used across Eildon’s development programme.

Mark Walton reports that "the system is currently being used for cashflow management and workflow. We are actively working to expanding this to the other functions, and in particular linking the property management section straight into our own housing management system".
