The SDS Active Asset Management Seminar 4th October 2017

Firstly thank you, everyone, who came to The SDS Active Asset Management Seminar at the beginning of October in London. It was a full house for a very informative day with Kevin Williams chairing this event with us.

Christopher Broster from the Greater London Authority kicked off the morning and shared the GLA’s perspective on Active Asset Management.

Alex Rose and Ross Allen brought us actual examples of user experiences.

Dan Moan from Devonshires Solicitors gave everyone an insight into just some of the legal pitfalls of disposals and the issues that crop up in connection with commercial stock on mixed-use development.

Andre & Harm from Aareon gave a fascinating talk on the Dutch view to social housing as well as how they manage their assets and building bridges between IT and asset management.

Lunch was awesome as ever and provided everyone with a lovely networking opportunity with their peers and the speakers to discuss current trends and some of the points raised and digging deeper into some of the questions raised during the morning.

Thomas Fountain from Clarion shared some of the challenges that his organisation has recently faced due to their big merger. He openly discussed the challenges of delivering an active asset management approach across a diverse portfolio, and the importance of ensuring this is aligned with a comprehensive asset strategy.

Finally, Rowley Maggs, Mike Victory Rowe and James Laird finished the day by exploring how knowing your assets enables you to profile your stock to investigate any anomalies. They then demonstrated how using SDS Stock Profiler you can locate your low performing assets, obtain a commercial understanding of your stock and test your stock’s integrity.

Did you know that as well as developing great appraisal software for asset and development professionals within the social housing sector, SDS also run focused cpd accredited seminars for industry professionals.
